Educators
New for 2011-2012! PACC for Junior High
Parents as Career Coaches (PACC) Junior High will launch September 2011.
The 1 evening session will help parents/guardians get their kids thinking of their interests, passions and skills, to make course selections for High School and eventually future career planning.
Feel free to contact pacc@gov.ns.ca or 424-7503 if you have any questions, or if your junior high school is interested in pursuing a PACC program in the fall.
Promotion
If your school is interested in helping promote the Parents as Career Coaches program to parents, please call the Department of Labour & Advanced Education at 902-424-7503 or pacc@gov.ns.ca to express interest. Programs are available in English and in French.
Here are some of the ways you can help us get the word out:
- Circulate the Parents as Career Coaches brochure to parents through school newsletters, report cards, parent-teacher and curriculum nights, etc.
- Parents can sign-up for programs on the PACC website
- Talk to your Student Advisory Councils about the Parents as Career Coaches program and ask them to help spread the word
- Link to www.parentsascareercoaches.ca from your school's website
By working with us, you can help equip parents with the practical tools and information they need to effectively guide and support their children as they make the transition to post-secondary education and training, as well as the workforce.
"It's important for parents and educators to work together to show students what options are out there for them."
Linda Fewell, Principal, Citadel High School
